  • AP Pension, the 3.62bn (DKr27bn) Danish fund, has appointed Hans Boye Clausen as managing director. Mr Boye Clausen, currently deputy managing director, replaces Holger Dock who will retire in December. Mr Boye Clausen joined AP Pension in 1975. In 1980 he moved to Tryg Pension but returned to AP four years later. Søren Dal Thomsen, who joins the firm from Sampension, is expected to take up the duties of Mr Boye Clausen.

  • Harry Klagsbrun, head of SEB Asset Management and member of the group executive committee, is moving on to take up a position as senior partner at the private equity firm EQT Partners. Mr Klagsbrun joined SEB group in 2001 as executive vice president and head of asset management. Before that he acted for five years as CEO of Alfred Berg Group, and between 1989 to 1995 at Handelsbanken where he was responsible for corporate finance.
  • EQT Partners has also recently appointed Björn Höi Jensen, its senior partner as head of EQT equity. In his new role Mr Höi Jensen will lead EQT Partners’ equity management group together with its country heads Ole Andersen in Denmark, Marcus Brennecke in Germany, Thomas von Koch in Sweden and Petri Myllyneva in Finland. The firm manages approximately €6bn in eight funds.
  • Sweden’s SKr251.1bn (€27.3bn) AMF Pension has appointed Mats Hederos as the new head of property. Mr Hederos joins the firm from AP Fastigheter where he was responsible for investments. He replaces Tom Jensen who retired at the end of April after 15 years of service at AMF Pension. AMF has also appointed Urban Bäckström, Charlotte Bohman and Per Bardh as members of its board.
  • Varma, the Finnish 24.6bn Mutual Pension Insurance Company, has appointed Tiina Hellgrén as senior vice president, strategy and development. Mrs Hellgrén joins Varma from Skandia Life, the subsidiary of Swedish Skandia Liv in Helsinki, where she was managing director. At Varma she will report to Matti Vuoria, the firm’s managing director.
  • Crédit Agricole Asset Management has appointed Andreas Ahlström as relationship manager in its Nordic team based in Helsinki. Mr Ahlström joins Crédit Agricole from Reuters in Stockholm, where he was key account manager Nordics for the past two and half years.
  • Mandatum Asset Management has appointed Mikko Karemo as director, Eastern European products. Mr Karemo joins the firm from insurance company If P&C, where he has held several positions since 1997, most recently as the head of international claims at the firm’s Stockholm office.
  • Aberdeen Property Investors in Sweden has appointed Jan Sööder as its new chief executive. For the past eight years Mr Sööder worked at his own consulting business, which focused on venture capital, real estate and lease back transactions. At Aberdeen, Mr Sööder will work on expanding the firm’s operations with a focus on fund products.
  • Aberdeen Property Investors in Helsinki has appointed Timo Tikkinen as head of institutional sales. Mr Tikkinen joins Aberdeen from Liiga-SaiPa, the Finnish ice hockey team, where he was managing director.
  • Ilmarinen, the € 21.2bn Finnish Mutual Pension Insurance Company, has promoted Tomi Aimonen as head direct real estate. Mr Aimonen joined Ilmarinen in 2001 as property analyst. Before that he worked for three years as consultant at Pöyry Building Group.
